This year the „European 100 Miles Club” was definitely dominated by the British endurance athletes.
Duncan Oakes won the kick-off event Thames Path 100 (TP100). Mark Perkins impressed with his incredible record time at the Berlin Wall Race. Now another British athlete finished the 100-Miles series with a victory at the Magredi Mountain Trail (MMT) in Italy: Charplie Sharpe mastered the 100 miles and about 7700 m of altitude difference in 22:13 hours. Best placed Germans at the MMT were Martina Schliep and Gaston Prüfer from LG Mauerweg (in the picture with Spartathlon winner Ivan Cudin) with a total time of less than 35 hours. Thereby they both made a dream come true by finishing all three runs of the “European 100 Miles Club” within one year. As a reward they were granted admission to the selected group of finishers and received the great outdoor jacket of the club.
